Just re-reading through all these posts ^^ Doubt if you'll read it..but...

That party was just unacceptable. The BRD is usually too busy to do more than toss out a curaga/cure/status ailment removal. The RDM MUST sub WHM if he is going to be the main heal, especially in a place like Onzozo where paralyze and silence reign supreme. Heck all mages should be /WHM to assist as those moves go off very often.

To be fair though on both sides. As a RDM I rarely will refresh a BRD unless they are helping me back up heal (and most of the time it would be a different mage, rather than the BRD). As a BRD I will rarely ask for a refresh, unless I'm dipping further down. For the PLD, however, I can understand his need for silena. Same for the NIN. As the main tanks, PLDs need silena to be able to self-cure and NINs need it to cast their shadows. The other melees can wait...hehehe.

OK, i recovered it. Kill my previous comments tari. Please.

Lol of course I would like refresh when I am quickly going under 150MP and keep healing. (I have 300++ MP)
And I agree that it's poitnless refreshing when I am done with song casting and healings when I can kindly type /heal and wait like all the mages do.

"(brds that play like a whm)" - It's not "I like to play as WHM", I just help and make PT faster. Less MP waste for WHM/RDM. Less rest.

I've been lot of times with horrible RDMs; last one NEVER use convert in battle and he keeped refreshing himself, causing multiple deaths, not at once but it's not nice. Not nice for the absence of RaiseII or III.
He even had one staff only . A RDM WITH ONE ELEMENTAL STAFF ONLY ? ahaah what a joke. And it was a DARK staff.
Plus when he was under 20-30 MP he keep using LVL1 BLM' spells. (Fire I-Damage 1)
I am sick of RDMs lately.....

Oh sorry. I'm a little emo-frustrated-whatev in those days.

Well... to bring in some melee perspective here...

I understand why you were annoyed and the dumb naggers should have looked at the damned party list and understood why the status effects were lingering. I do not expect a BRD to carry that kind of load, and really at those levels, people need to take those blinders off and start paying attention.

However, to Maiev, I can also understand the knee-jerk "{Silenced}" nofications. I've been in too many parties where the WHM does not notice the mob's TP move on a cone of players (such as the Thief behind the Tank, or the Thief's TA partner *cough* *cough*) and doesn't remove the status effects on anyone but the tank.

News flash... A non-silenced, non-blind tank will not kill the mob for the party, resulting in more MP expense and frustration on your part. Haste/buffs on the melees is meaningless if they are whiffing or paralyzed. The need for buffs takes second seat to SE removal, in most cases, in my opinion.

But again, Tari, you were not in a situation where this type of prioritization was even remotely possible. I mean, you were busy keeping the party alive and buffed.

I just feel like some healers are a bit too quick to get pissy with melees when they notify the party of their status effect. Personally, I announce it to explain my performance and warn about TP gain, etc. Not to harass the mages.
